Na Piarsaigh GAA club have been selected into the final four clubs in the Eithad Airways "Raise the Bar" competition.
The judges who include the legendary Michael O Muircheartaigh, Tipp hero Nicky English and Des Cahill of the Sunday Game.
The judges along with the public vote will
decide which of the four clubs is most deserving of the prizes.
The winning club will receive an immediate sponsorship fund of €10,000 to use however they see fit, plus a full package of support tools and appearances to access throughout the year, including:
· Regular fundraising prizes, including 2 flights to any Etihad network destination, Hurling All-Ireland Final tickets and more
· Mentoring with Nicky English for men’s senior team
· Underage coaching session with a GAA All Star
· Motivational club talk from ex-Ireland rugby international Conor O’Shea (title-winning Director of Rugby at Harlequins
· Nutritional expertise session from Dr. Donal O’Shea (leading endocrinologist)
· Club Table Quiz compère engagement by Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh

City Junior Football Champions 2012
Congratulations to the victorious Under 21 hurling team who defeated Doon on Saturday in the County Final.
The team led most of the way with our goals coming from Kevin Downes and Shane Dowling.
Well done to all concerned on bringing the Lannigan Cup back to Pairc Drumguil!!!!
The final score was Na Piarsaigh 2-17 to Doon's 3-10
Niall Buckley accepted the trophy with a truly memorable speech!!!

The City Senior Hurling final was played on Saturday night in Mungret against Ballybrown.
Once again we were minus a host of regulars but this gave us the chance to test the extended panel of players.
A goal inside the first five minutes from Kevin Ryan sent us on our way and this was swiftly followed by another goal from Adrian Breen.However we were soon brought back to earth when Ballybrown netted not once but twice to peg us back.
A couple of pointed frees from kevin Ryan and points from David Sheppard and Adrian Breen sent us in 2-08 to 2-05 at the break.
The second half we enjoyed more possession and with Pa Guinane and Paul Downes excelling in defence allowing our forwards more ball to create the scores.
Minor player Eoghan Keogh enjoying his senior debut was playing well in the corner ably assisted by full forward David Sheppard and Robert Sheehan on the wing who also chipped in with two vital points.
David Lynch accepted the Cup on behalf of his team mates on a final score of Na Piarsaigh 2-14 to Ballybrown 2-08.

The club was recently crowned "Munster Club of the Year" at a function in Killarney.Chairman Timmy O Connor ,John McKeogh and Willie Mulcahy were on hand to receive this prestigious award from Munster Council Chairman Sean Walsh
The club recently had a visit from Limerick's live 95fm on the eve of the Munster club Final.

County Minor Hurling Champions 2011
Congratulations to the Under 14 Hurlers and Management who yesterday won the County Under 14 Title defeating Newcastlewest 0-11 to 1-04.

The Daly Cup paid a visit to the Saturday morning kids to share in the glory of last Sundays memorable victory in the County Senior Hurling Final.
